New Netherland Timber Framing is a small, dedicated crew of tradespeople dedicated to the preservation of the American-built heritage. Since the founding of NNTF, Ian and Windy have brought significant experience in the field to every client.

Presentations & Publications

An important part of restoration is understanding the structure, its purpose, and its history. Owner Ian Stewart holds a Master's in Preservation Studies from Boston University with an expertise in Anglo Dutch structures in America, frequently presenting and writing on the subject.

New Netherland Timber Framing and Preservation strives to continue the traditions of craft and skill which have been handed down through generations. Whether the work is preservation of an existing structure or the creation of something new, we are dedicated to both the overall aesthetics of any structure, as well as the details which make it so special. It is our passion to support and improve the legacy of this world’s built heritage.
